This 7-day combined trekking adventure offers a quick Mount Meru climb for acclimatization followed by a challenging 5-day Machame Route climb on Mount Kilimanjaro.

The itinerary is perfect for climbers with limited time but who still want wildlife encounters, scenic trekking, and a rewarding summit experience.

The journey starts in Arusha, with a brief wildlife trek in Arusha National Park, before heading to Kilimanjaro.

Mount Meru – 2 Days

Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Momella Gate → Miriakamba Hut

• Trek briefing and preparation
• Start trek through rainforest to Miriakamba Hut (2,500m)
• Overnight at Miriakamba Hut

Day 2: Summit Socialist Peak → Descend to Momella Gate → Transfer to Moshi/Arusha

• Early morning summit attempt (4,566m)
• Witness sunrise views over Kilimanjaro
• Descend to Momella Gate
• Transfer to hotel in preparation for Machame Route

Machame Route – 5 Days

Day 3: Machame Gate → Machame Camp

• Altitude: 1,800m → 2,835m
• Trek through lush rainforest
• Overnight at Machame Camp

Day 4: Machame Camp → Shira Camp

• Altitude: 2,835m → 3,840m
• Trek across Shira Plateau
• Overnight at Shira Camp

Day 5: Shira Camp → Lava Tower → Barranco Camp

• Altitude: 3,840m → 4,640m → 3,950m
• Acclimatization and scenic trek
• Overnight at Barranco Camp

Day 6: Barranco Camp → Karanga Camp → Barafu Camp

• Trek via Barranco Wall
• Prepare for summit
• Overnight at Barafu Camp

Day 7: Barafu Camp → Uhuru Peak → Mweka Camp → Mweka Gate

• Midnight summit attempt to Uhuru Peak (5,895m)
• Sunrise views over Africa
• Descend through rainforest to Mweka Gate
• Transfer back to hotel or airport
