Mount Meru – 5 Days
Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Momella Gate
- Trek briefing and preparation
- Begin trek to Miriakamba Hut (2,500m)
- Overnight at the hut
Day 2: Miriakamba Hut → Saddle Hut
- Trek through rainforest and moorland
- Altitude gain: 2,500m → 3,570m
- Overnight at Saddle Hut
Day 3: Saddle Hut → Summit Socialist Peak → Saddle Hut
- Early morning summit attempt (4,566m)
- Sunrise over Kilimanjaro and surrounding plains
- Descend back to Saddle Hut for overnight
Day 4: Saddle Hut → Miriakamba Hut
- Trek descent through scenic trails
- Rest and enjoy the views
- Overnight at Miriakamba Hut
Day 5: Miriakamba Hut → Momella Gate → Transfer to Moshi/Arusha
- Final descent
- Transfer to hotel in preparation for Kilimanjaro trek
Machame Route – 6 Days
Day 6: Machame Gate → Machame Camp
- Altitude: 1,800m → 2,835m
- Trek through rainforest
- Overnight at Machame Camp
Day 7: Machame Camp → Shira Camp
- Altitude: 2,835m → 3,840m
- Trek across Shira Plateau
- Overnight at Shira Camp
Day 8: Shira Camp → Lava Tower → Barranco Camp
- Altitude: 3,840m → 4,640m → 3,950m
- Acclimatization day
- Overnight at Barranco Camp
Day 9: Barranco Camp → Karanga Camp
- Climb Barranco Wall
- Trek to Karanga Camp (4,000m)
- Overnight
Day 10: Karanga Camp → Barafu Camp
- Altitude: 4,000m → 4,600m
- Prepare for summit attempt
- Overnight at Barafu Camp
Day 11: Barafu Camp → Uhuru Peak → Mweka Camp → Mweka Gate
- Midnight summit attempt to Uhuru Peak (5,895m)
- Sunrise over Africa
- Descend to Mweka Camp and then Mweka Gate
- Transfer to hotel or airport
