Marangu Route 4 Days Itinerary
Day 1: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
After breakfast, drive to Marangu Gate for registration and final preparations. Begin trekking through the lush montane rainforest toward Mandara Hut. The trail provides an opportunity to enjoy the forest vegetation and mountain environment before arriving at the hut for dinner and overnight.

Trekking Time: About 4–5 hours
Overnight: Mandara Hut
Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
After breakfast, continue trekking toward Horombo Hut. The landscape gradually changes from rainforest to heath and moorland. Enjoy views of the surrounding mountain scenery as you ascend to Horombo Hut. Dinner and overnight will be at the mountain hut.

Trekking Time: About 6–8 hours
Overnight: Horombo Hut
Day 3: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
After breakfast, trek from Horombo Hut toward Kibo Hut through the alpine desert zone. The landscape becomes more open and rugged as you approach the higher elevations. Arrive at Kibo Hut, have an early dinner and rest while preparing for the summit attempt.

Overnight: Kibo Hut
Day 4: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak, Descend to Marangu Gate
The final day begins very early with the summit attempt toward Uhuru Peak. The climb is physically demanding and conditions can be cold at high altitude. Trekkers who successfully reach Uhuru Peak will have time for photographs before beginning the descent. Continue down toward Horombo and then onward to Marangu Gate. After completing the trek, meet your driver for transfer back to Moshi or Arusha.
