Best 9 Days Kilimanjaro Northern Circuit Route,
At Kilinge Adventures, we offer the Northern Circuit as a nine-day private climb, which is perfect for those seeking a quieter, more immersive experience on the mountain. For those interested in a more exclusive and higher-altitude experience, we also offer a Crater Camp option as part of the 9 Days Northern Circuit Route. Crater Camp, at 5,865 meters above sea level, is located just 475 meters below the summit. It is the highest campsite on Kilimanjaro and offers a unique opportunity to spend the night closer to the summit. This option adds an extra day to the itinerary, bringing your climb to 10 days in total.
While the standard 9-day route is already an incredible experience, staying at Crater Camp enhances acclimatization and makes your summit attempt even more special. Most climbers on Kilimanjaro only reach the high camps and descend to base camps on summit day, but with Crater Camp, you’ll experience a unique perspective, with the chance to explore the surroundings of Furtwangler Glacier and Reusch Crater—a magnificent, nearly perfectly circular ash pit that is 400 feet deep and 1,300 feet wide, a sight rarely seen by tourists.

Kilinge Adventure also emphasizes cultural immersion, offering trekkers the chance to engage with local communities along the route. This interaction enriches the experience, allowing hikers to learn about the traditions, customs, and daily lives of the Chaga people, who have lived in the shadow of Kilimanjaro for generations. Sharing stories around a campfire or enjoying traditional meals prepared by skilled local chefs fosters a sense of connection that transcends the physical trek itself.
