Start your adventure in the morning from Moshi or Arusha and drive to Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. Complete registration and park formalities before meeting your guide and beginning the trek toward Miriakamba Hut.
The trail passes through forest and open areas with beautiful scenery and possible wildlife sightings, including giraffes, buffaloes, and warthogs. The route gradually climbs as you enjoy views of the surrounding landscapes.
Continue hiking to Miriakamba Hut at about 2,514 meters. After arriving, enjoy your meals, settle in, and rest well for the challenging climb ahead.
Miriakamba Hut → Socialist Peak → Momella Gate
Start early from Miriakamba Hut and climb toward Saddle Hut. The trail becomes steeper as you gain altitude, so maintain a slow and steady pace while enjoying the mountain scenery.
From Saddle Hut, continue toward Socialist Peak at about 4,566 meters. After reaching the summit, enjoy the impressive views of Mount Meru and the surrounding landscapes before beginning the descent.
Descend from the summit toward Momella Gate. After completing the park exit procedures, meet your vehicle and transfer back to Moshi or Arusha for rest and preparation for the Kilimanjaro climb.
Machame Gate → Machame Camp
After breakfast, drive from Moshi or Arusha to Machame Gate. Complete registration and park formalities before starting the Kilimanjaro trek through the lush rainforest.
The trail gradually climbs through dense forest, with beautiful trees, plants, and birdlife along the way. Walk at a steady pace as you begin adjusting to the Kilimanjaro environment.
Continue hiking to Machame Camp, where you will enjoy your meals and settle in for the night. Rest well and prepare for the next day's trek toward the Shira Plateau.
Machame Camp → Shira Camp
After breakfast, leave Machame Camp and continue climbing toward the Shira Plateau. As you leave the rainforest, the landscape changes to open moorland with beautiful views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Continue across the scenic Shira Plateau while enjoying the changing vegetation and mountain scenery. The steady climb helps your body continue adjusting to the increasing altitude.
Arrive at Shira Camp, settle in, enjoy your meals, and rest for the night. Prepare for the next day's trek toward Lava Tower and Barranco Camp.
Shira Camp → Lava Tower → Barranco Camp
After breakfast, leave Shira Camp and continue trekking toward Lava Tower. The trail gradually climbs through a rocky high-altitude landscape with impressive views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Reach Lava Tower at about 4,630 meters and take time to rest and have lunch. Afterward, descend toward Barranco Camp, following the climb-high, sleep-low approach to help your body adjust to the altitude.
Continue through the alpine landscape until you reach Barranco Camp. Enjoy dinner and rest while preparing for the next day's climb of the Barranco Wall.
Barranco Camp → Karanga Camp
After breakfast, leave Barranco Camp and begin climbing the famous Barranco Wall. The trail is steep and rocky in some sections, but it offers impressive views of the surrounding valleys and Mount Kilimanjaro.
After reaching the top of the Barranco Wall, continue across ridges and valleys toward Karanga Camp. The trail passes through rocky terrain and high-altitude vegetation as you gradually gain elevation.
Arrive at Karanga Camp in the afternoon, enjoy your meals, and rest for the night. Prepare for the next day's trek toward Barafu Camp.
Karanga Camp → Barafu Camp
After breakfast, leave Karanga Camp and continue trekking toward Barafu Camp. The trail passes through a dry, rocky alpine landscape with little vegetation as you climb higher.
The increasing altitude can make the trek more demanding, so maintain a slow and steady pace. Enjoy the views of the surrounding mountain slopes while preparing mentally and physically for the summit.
Arrive at Barafu Camp and settle in for the night. Have your meals, organize your summit equipment, and rest early because the summit attempt will begin during the night.
Barafu Camp → Stella Point → Uhuru Peak → Mweka Camp
Start the summit attempt very early, usually around midnight, from Barafu Camp. Trek slowly through the cold and darkness toward Stella Point on the crater rim, taking regular breaks along the way.
From Stella Point, continue toward Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters, the highest point in Africa. After reaching the summit, enjoy the views and take photographs before beginning the long descent.
Descend back toward Barafu Camp for a short rest, then continue down to Mweka Camp. After the demanding summit day, enjoy dinner and rest well at the camp.
Mweka Camp → Mweka Gate → Moshi/Arusha
After breakfast, leave Mweka Camp and begin the final descent through the rainforest. The trail becomes easier as you lose altitude, with beautiful forest scenery along the way.
Continue hiking toward Mweka Gate, where you will complete the park exit procedures and receive your summit certificate if applicable. After completing the formalities, meet your vehicle for the transfer.
Drive back to Moshi or Arusha for a well-deserved rest after completing the combined Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro adventure.
