Day 1: Rongai Gate to Simba Camp
Your adventure begins with a transfer from Moshi or Arusha to Rongai Gate, located on the northern side of Mount Kilimanjaro near the Kenyan border. After completing registration formalities and meeting your mountain crew, the trek begins through beautiful montane forest and heathland.
The trail gradually ascends through an area rich in wildlife and unique vegetation. This quieter route offers excellent opportunities to experience Kilimanjaro's natural beauty away from the busier trails. As you gain altitude, the forest opens into moorland with impressive views of the surrounding landscapes.
Upon arrival at Simba Camp, you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay while taking in the fresh mountain air and stunning scenery.

Day 2: Simba Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp
After breakfast, continue your trek through the scenic moorland zone. The trail steadily climbs toward the eastern side of Mount Kilimanjaro, revealing spectacular views of Kibo Peak and the dramatic ridges of Mawenzi Peak.
As you approach Mawenzi, the landscape becomes increasingly rugged and impressive. The towering volcanic spires and rocky formations create one of the most breathtaking mountain environments on Kilimanjaro.
Arrive at Mawenzi Tarn Camp, beautifully situated beneath the towering cliffs of Mawenzi Peak. After lunch, spend the afternoon exploring the surrounding area, taking photographs, and enjoying panoramic views of the mountain.

Day 3: Mawenzi Tarn Exploration and Descent
After an early breakfast, enjoy a guided exploration hike around the spectacular slopes and viewpoints surrounding Mawenzi Peak. This excursion allows you to experience the dramatic volcanic landscape up close while enjoying magnificent views of Kibo Peak, the Saddle Plateau, and the vast plains below.
The rugged terrain around Mawenzi provides excellent photography opportunities and showcases some of the most striking scenery on Mount Kilimanjaro. Your guide will share information about the mountain's geology, ecology, and climbing history.
Following the exploration, begin your descent toward the lower slopes of the mountain before transferring back to Moshi or Arusha.
