Day 1: Moshi / Arusha – Marangu Gate – Mandara Hut

Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from Moshi or Arusha, followed by a scenic drive to Marangu Gate, the starting point of the Marangu Route. After registration and a short briefing, you will begin hiking through lush rainforest.
The trail passes through dense vegetation with towering trees, moss-covered ground, and abundant wildlife such as blue monkeys and colorful bird species. The hike is gradual and well-marked, making it suitable for first-time hikers.
You will arrive at Mandara Hut, where you will enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation in shared mountain huts.

Day 2: Mandara Hut – Maundi Crater – Marangu Gate – Moshi / Arusha
Elevation: 2,700m to 2,750m
Hiking Time: 3–4 hours
After breakfast, you will hike to Maundi Crater, a scenic viewpoint offering panoramic views of northern Tanzania and Kenya on clear days. This short hike provides an excellent opportunity for photography and acclimatization.
After enjoying the views, you will descend back through the rainforest to Marangu Gate, where your Marangu Route 2 days travel itinerary concludes. You will meet your driver and transfer back to Moshi or Arusha.
