Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut

Transfer to Momella Gate and start trekking through rainforest with an armed ranger. Spot giraffes, buffalo, and monkeys. Overnight at Miriakamba Hut.

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

Trek through forest and moorland with views of Meru Crater and Ash Cone. Optional acclimatization hike to Little Meru. Overnight at Saddle Hut.

Day 3: Summit Socialist Peak to Miriakamba Hut

Start early for the summit to Socialist Peak. Witness sunrise with views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Descend to Miriakamba Hut for overnight.

Day 4: Miriakamba Hut to Momella Gate

Descend through forest to Momella Gate. Transfer back to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi.

Day 5: Machame Gate to Machame Camp

Transfer to Machame Gate and begin the Kilimanjaro trek through rainforest. Overnight at Machame Camp.

Day 6: Machame Camp to Shira Camp

Ascend through moorland terrain to Shira Camp. Enjoy panoramic views of the Shira Plateau.

Day 7: Shira Camp to Lava Tower and Barranco Camp

Hike to Lava Tower for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp. Overnight at Barranco Camp.

Day 8: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Climb the Barranco Wall and continue to Karanga Camp. Rest and prepare for higher altitude ascent.

Day 9: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Trek to Barafu Camp, the base for your summit attempt. Early dinner and rest.

Day 10: Summit Uhuru Peak and Descend to Barafu Camp

Begin midnight summit attempt to Uhuru Peak. Descend to Barafu Camp for rest.

Day 11: Barafu Camp to Mweka Camp

Continue descending through alpine and forest zones to Mweka Camp. Overnight at Mweka Camp.

Day 12: Mweka Camp to Moshi/Arusha

Complete descent to Mweka Gate and transfer back to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. End of trekking adventure.
