Detailed 10-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Transfer to hotel in Arusha or Moshi. Briefing and preparation.
Mount Meru Trek – 3 Days Acclimatization
Day 2: Arusha – Momella Gate – Miriakamba Hut
Drive to Momella Gate. Trek through forest and savannah with wildlife such as giraffes, buffalo, and monkeys. Overnight at Miriakamba Hut (2,514m).
Day 3: Miriakamba Hut – Saddle Hut
Ascend through forest and moorland to Saddle Hut (3,570m). Afternoon acclimatization hike to Little Meru for altitude adaptation.
Day 4: Saddle Hut – Summit Socialist Peak – Descend to Arusha
Early morning climb to Socialist Peak (4,566m). Enjoy sunrise views, then descend to Momella Gate and transfer to hotel.
Kilimanjaro Trek – Marangu Route (7 Days)
Day 5: Marangu Gate – Mandara Hut
Begin Kilimanjaro climb via Marangu Gate. Trek through rainforest to Mandara Hut (2,720m).
Day 6: Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut
Continue through moorland zone with views of Mawenzi Peak. Overnight at Horombo Hut (3,720m).
Day 7: Acclimatization Day – Horombo Hut
Rest day with optional hike to Zebra Rocks (4,000m) for altitude adjustment.
Day 8: Horombo Hut – Slow Acclimatization Hike
Short hike to higher elevation and return for recovery (improves oxygen adaptation and summit readiness).
Day 9: Horombo Hut – Kibo Hut
Trek across alpine desert to Kibo Hut (4,700m). Early rest before summit night.
Day 10: Summit Day – Uhuru Peak – Horombo Hut
Midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895m). Celebrate at the roof of Africa and descend to Horombo Hut.
Day 11: Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate
Final descent through rainforest. Certificate presentation and transfer to hotel.
