This 12-day trekking adventure combines the majestic Mount Meru with the world-famous Machame Route on Mount Kilimanjaro.

The 4-day Mount Meru trek provides excellent acclimatization, allowing climbers to increase their chances of a successful summit on Kilimanjaro. Along the way, enjoy wildlife encounters, scenic landscapes, and sunrise summits.

Mount Meru – 4 Days

Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Momella Gate

• Trek preparation and briefing
• Start trek to Miriakamba Hut (2,500m)
• Overnight in the hut

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut → Saddle Hut

• Trek through rainforest and moorland
• Altitude gain: 2,500m → 3,570m
• Overnight at Saddle Hut

Day 3: Saddle Hut → Summit Socialist Peak → Descend to Saddle Hut

• Early morning summit attempt (4,566m)
• Spectacular sunrise views over Kilimanjaro
• Descend back to Saddle Hut for overnight

Day 4: Saddle Hut → Momella Gate → Transfer to Arusha/Moshi

• Trek descent through scenic trails
• Transfer to hotel for rest before Kilimanjaro trek

Machame Route – 8 Days

Day 5: Machame Gate → Machame Camp

• Altitude: 1,800m → 2,835m
• Trek through lush rainforest
• Overnight at Machame Camp

Day 6: Machame Camp → Shira Camp

• Altitude: 2,835m → 3,840m
• Trek across the Shira Plateau
• Overnight at Shira Camp

Day 7: Shira Camp → Lava Tower → Barranco Camp

• Altitude: 3,840m → 4,640m → 3,950m
• Acclimatization day
• Overnight at Barranco Camp

Day 8: Barranco Camp → Karanga Camp

• Climb the Barranco Wall
• Trek to Karanga Camp (4,000m)
• Overnight

Day 9: Karanga Camp → Barafu Camp

• Altitude: 4,000m → 4,600m
• Prepare for summit attempt
• Overnight at Barafu Camp

Day 10: Barafu Camp → Uhuru Peak → Mweka Camp

• Midnight summit attempt (5,895m)
• Sunrise at Uhuru Peak
• Descend to Mweka Camp (3,100m)
• Overnight

Day 11: Mweka Camp → Mweka Gate

• Trek through rainforest
• Transfer back to hotel in Moshi/Arusha
• Overnight at hotel

Day 12: Departure

• Optional sightseeing or transfers to the airport
• End of trek
