Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut

Transfer from Arusha to Momella Gate and begin trekking through rainforest with an armed ranger. Expect wildlife sightings such as giraffes, buffalo, and monkeys. Overnight at Miriakamba Hut.

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

Trek through forest and moorland with views of Meru Crater and Ash Cone. Optional acclimatization hike to Little Meru. Overnight at Saddle Hut.

Day 3: Saddle Hut to Socialist Peak and return to Saddle Hut

Early morning summit attempt to Socialist Peak. Enjoy sunrise views and a clear sight of Mount Kilimanjaro. Descend back to Saddle Hut for overnight.

Day 4: Saddle Hut to Miriakamba Hut

Descend through scenic landscapes back to Miriakamba Hut. Overnight stay at the hut.

Day 5: Miriakamba Hut to Momella Gate

Final descent to Momella Gate. Transfer to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi for rest.

Day 6: Machame Gate to Machame Camp

Transfer to Machame Gate and begin trekking through rainforest. Arrive at Machame Camp for overnight.

Day 7: Machame Camp to Shira Camp

Ascend through moorland terrain to Shira Camp with panoramic views.

Day 8: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower

Trek to Lava Tower for acclimatization and descend to Barranco Camp for overnight.

Day 9: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Climb the Barranco Wall and continue to Karanga Camp. Rest and prepare for summit.

Day 10: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Ascend to Barafu Camp, the base for your summit attempt. Early dinner and rest.

Day 11: Summit Uhuru Peak and descend to Mweka Gate

Begin midnight summit attempt to Uhuru Peak. After reaching the summit, descend via Barafu Camp to Mweka Gate and transfer back to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi.
