Overview

Discover the natural beauty of Tanzania with the 1 Day Mount Meru and 6 Days Machame Route Trek, an exciting seven-day mountain adventure combining a scenic day hike on Mount Meru with a challenging six-day Kilimanjaro climbing expedition. Organized by Kilinge Adventures, this combined trekking package offers travelers an opportunity to explore two of Tanzania’s most remarkable mountain environments in one unforgettable journey.

Your adventure begins with a one-day Mount Meru nature hike inside Arusha National Park. Located near Arusha, Mount Meru is Tanzania’s second-highest mountain, rising to 4,566 meters above sea level. During this introductory hike, you will explore the mountain’s lower slopes, beautiful forests, scenic waterfalls, and wildlife-rich landscapes. Unlike a multi-day Mount Meru summit expedition, this one-day experience focuses on nature exploration rather than reaching Socialist Peak.

The journey continues with a six-day Kilimanjaro expedition along the famous Machame Route, also known as the Whiskey Route. This scenic trail takes you through tropical rainforest, heathland, moorland, alpine desert, and the high-altitude summit environment before reaching Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters, the highest point in Africa.

This package is ideal for adventurous travelers who want to combine wildlife, nature photography, mountain hiking, and a rewarding Kilimanjaro summit challenge. With experienced local guides, organized trekking arrangements, and personalized travel assistance, Kilinge Adventures helps you experience Tanzania’s spectacular mountain landscapes.

After reaching the top, continue through the scenic Karanga Valley before ascending toward Barafu Camp. This is one of the more demanding days of the six-day Machame itinerary because it combines the sections from Barranco to Karanga and Karanga to Barafu.
