The culture is a distinctive character of this fascinating ancestry group of noble people (Maasai) with beautiful and interesting stories every visitor would never want to miss through Maasai Cultural day trip.

Unlike many other tribes in Tanzania, the Maasai are semi-nomadic pastoralists inhabiting northern Tanzania. They live by herding cattle and goats and still exist on a diet of milk, blood, and meat. Nowadays, it is becoming very common in places for the Maasai to supplement their diet with grain.

The Maasai Cultural Villages are a good stop for anyone wanting to spend a day/ night in an authentically constructed Maasai boma or learn about Maasai traditions. You should know that the Maasai have not fared well in modern Africa. They still make their homes in circular enclosures protected by thorny makeshift fences keeping their cattle at the center of the ‘BOMA’ (home).

Kikuletwa Hot spring Day Tour

Chemka / Kikuletwa Hot spring Day Tour - Short Safari

This is probably the best place to swim in Moshi. Emanating from within the earth, the geo-thermally warmed water is constantly renewed and is therefore very fresh and clear and clean. It’s a very pleasant place to spend a couple of hours with family and friends, or to relax before or after a climb or safari. Many of our clients have had at least 5 hours for this excursion after some tremendous tiresome days in the wilderness and they all enjoyed it.

The Chemka / Kikuletwa Hot Spring is an oasis in the hinterland of the Kilimanjaro region, 1-2 hours drive from Moshi town. At these restful underground springs with the crystal-clear water, you can enjoy the perfect breather after a strenuous Kilimanjaro climb or adventurous wilderness safari. But also for day trippers, they are an ideal destination for a total peaceful mind rest. For both old and young, the Chemka Hot Springs invite you to linger, swim and explore its amazing natural waters. The pond is very deep, in some places up to 10 meters, but the water is so clear that you can see the bottom well all the time. On the shore under lush trees you can camp, enjoy your snacks or soak up the sun while enjoying this wonderful weather.
